I suppose its to be expected with the sheer number of political bots on tumblr right now, but goddamn the anti-Harris crowd has been incredibly unconvincing. Whenever I try to ask for elaboration on the claims they make they either fail to understand that more claims does not amount to actual evidence or they call me lazy/stupid for not doing all the work to find evidence for their claims for them. Its like, bro, are you even trying to be persuasive? Do you even actually want me to change my mind? What reason do I have to believe you even know what you're talking about, let alone that its an opinion I should share?

"Kamala Harris is going to destroy America!!" Ok, how? What is she going to do? How is that thing going to cause damage? What kind of damage? How do you know that it will have that outcome? How do you know that she will do it? Why should I believe you?

"Kamala Harris is a communist!!" Ok, how do you know? Or better yet, what do you mean by communist? What is bad about being a communist and how has she done that? As the saying goes, "even a broken clock is right twice a day," something being present in communism/socialism does not make it inherently bad. So tell me why the things are bad. Tell me why the specific things that Kamala Harris has done are bad.

Name calling, labelling, and accusations are not going to convince me if I cannot see why the actual tangible things are actually tangibly bad. I don't believe that anything is pure evil to even be associated with, so don't tell me "she is X therefore she is bad." Tell me why her actions are bad. Tell me why the things she supports have negative impacts.

Do you understand what I am saying? Do you understand what I am asking for? Do you understand yet why y'all have failed to persuade?? Do you understand yet why I am unconvinced??? I strongly oppose Trump, and I want to issue an invitation to any and all Trump supporters to message me and have a conversation. This would not be a debate. I think the only way to combat hatred is through understanding, and I think there is far too much hatred in the world and in our country right now. I want to hear your assumptions about me and other people I might interact with, and I promise to respond honestly. My goal with this is to share our core values and see if they are as different as so many seem to think. Again, I am not looking for a debate. If we have a long conversation about values and decide that it would be worthwhile to exchange sources and reasons for our worldviews we can do that, but I don’t think it is helpful to start out that way without understanding each other first.

We all knew it was a good chance of Kamala losing. The democrats sank their own ship by forcing Biden and then Harris. This result is their fault alone. They are the ones in power, they knew what they had to do win the votes and they flat out refused because it was easier to move further Right than take a step back and realize what was actually at stake.

The Dems thought we would swallow our morals and vote for Harris because the other side was Trump. They wanted to force us to vote for their Cop because the other side was con man. They did not stop to realize that this could have happened. Their arrogance sealed their fate.

The women in the U.S. saying they're oppressed because they can't have an abortion every week just shows how privileged they are. There are women in the Middle East who aren't allowed to talk in public, leave the house without a man, or even show their face. So before you start crying that you have no rights anymore, maybe think about how you wouldn't even be able to speak up about your opinions in a place like that.

Alright. It’s very likely that Trump won this election. It sucks. It’s okay fo grieve. But don’t linger on it. If we want to make any meaningful change in this country and in the world, we need to organise. We need to start fighting on a local scale. We need to start asking questions about what we want to see happen in our communities. Join a local organisation or start a union at your place of work. Talk about social justice issues. We cannot rely on Democrats (or Republicans) to fix our problems. This two party system, the electoral college, is broken.

If there are any moderate Republicans reading this, Trump won’t fix the economy. He will only make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Other than that, I have no words for you. Figure out what’s more important to you: People’s lives or your own bigotry and wallet.

And if the Nazi party wants to get violent, I will not be leaving my ancestral home. That I know for sure.
